Maybe stick to the human empire for your first games, things will make a bit more sense to you then.And just a short while later I finished my second game and conquered the ENTIRE DAMN GALAXY. I can't count how many times I started over and over and tried out different things before I finished my first game - by losing and being generally unimportant to the game. don't focus on finishing a game right away (unless you have fun doing so).Try to role-play a little and react to the events the game presents you with and before you know it, you'll have learned more and more.

Stellaris is not the best game when you want to play perfectly and optimally. to simply not worry about stuff you don't understand.to maybe watch a couple of Youtube tutorials on the game, Quill18 should have some good explanations as to what's going on with the game.But I would say, stick it out, I think Stellaris is probably the easiest 4X (rather, Grand Strategy?) game.
